La-Shonda found her way to the mat after her trainer suggested she try yoga due to tight hamstrings. She fell in love with it by using props and variations until she was able to do it the traditional way.

In July 2019, she completed her 200 hour-training with Vulcan Yoga Teacher Training. Since YTT, La-Shonda has completed the following trainings: Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Yoga for All, and Prenatal Yoga.

In Dec 2021 La-Shonda completed her 200 hour-training with Radiant Body Yoga a Kundalini Training by Kia Miller. La-Shonda figured out that people wanted to do yoga during the pandemic but were intimated by what social media says is yoga. La-Shonda's teaching style is a pace where props are included, and people can feel themselves in the pose. La-Shonda is an Accessible Yoga Ambassador, an advocate who wants to facilitate change in the yoga community to ensure that all people can benefit from yoga practices.

La-Shonda’s goal for each student is to feel that they can do yoga with the tools/props because if you cannot breathe in a pose then you miss the benefits of yoga.
